Course Description:

This course prepares students to take the Industry Competency Exam (ICE) for Residential Oil and Gas Heating. The ICE measures standards of basic competency developed, supported, and validated by major industry associations.

  2. Explain installation and start-up processes.

    3. Explain proper installation procedures and leak testing.
    4. Describe start-up, testing, and equipment adjustments.
  3. Review preventive maintenance techniques and procedures for residential oil and gas heating equipment.
    1. Summarize the results of operational checks on functioning equipment.
    2. Describe equipment cleaning and lubrication techniques and procedures.
    3. Record calibration checks on components.
    4. Identify proper methods of leak testing.
  4. Examine equipment operation verification procedures and service/repair techniques.
    1. Diagnose equipment problems based on given information.
    2. Discuss proper component repair and replacement.
    3. Describe equipment testing and verification methods.
Evaluation Criteria/Policies:

The grade will be determined using the Delaware Tech grading system:

90 100 = A
80 89 = B
70 79 = C
0 69 = F
