Course Number and Title: AET 270 Architectural Drafting/Design IV
In this capstone course, students use multiple computer-aided design (CAD) software platforms to develop architectural projects in a collaborative team approach. Emphasis is on research, building codes, building systems, sustainability, and innovative industry practices.

Upon completion of this course, the student will:
- Prepare detailed architectural drawings and supporting materials for commercial design and construction.
- Perform a site analysis.
- Develop bubble diagrams.
- Create hand-drawn conceptual sketches of site plan, floor plan(s), elevations, and other required views.
- Prepare schematic drawings of site plan, floor plan(s), elevations, sections, and details.
- Produce design development drawings of a site plan, a foundation plan, floor plan(s), reflected ceiling plans, elevations, sections, details, and schedules.
- Create 3D interior and exterior views.
- Adhere to schedules and timelines.
- Present design information graphically, orally, and in writing.
- Use building design standards and techniques.
- Use standard sizes and room relationships for a building type.
- Employ standard layouts for accessible bathrooms.
- Design for standard material sizes and minimal waste.
- Employ both passive and active energy-saving design elements.
- Incorporate accessible and universal design elements.
- Integrate construction materials and methods and mechanical and electrical systems into the building design.
- Research and select appropriate building systems and materials
- Document HVAC, electrical, lighting, data, water, sewage, storm water, and other building systems used in the building design.

Students must demonstrate proficiency on all CCPOs at a minimal 75 percent level to successfully complete the course. The grade will be determined using the Delaware Tech grading system:
