Course Number and Title: ITN 101 Introduction to Information Technology (IT)
This course provides students with the breadth and depth of the information technology (IT) field and introduces basic computer concepts in hardware, software, networking, computer ethics, programming, and algorithms. Students explore emerging technologies and various career opportunities within the IT field.

Upon completion of this course, the student will:
- Explore concepts within the IT field.
- Examine career opportunities within the IT field.
- Solve a problem using troubleshooting skills.
- Use information technology skills to discover critical technology resources.
- Discuss and use basic computer concepts.
- Articulate basic computer ethics for a given scenario within the IT field.
- Use a basic algorithm to solve a problem.
- Use basic programming tools to build a basic web page.
- Explain the function and purpose of wired and wireless networks.
- Examine emerging technologies and their impact on the IT field.
- Describe how the Internet of Things (IoT) relates to real-world applications.
- Explore emerging technologies and their application to the IT field, including, but not limited to: 3D printing, virtual reality (VR), drones, artificial intelligence (AI), augmented reality (AR), gaming, and machine learning.
- Identify trends in commerce and technology.
